Rolled Sleeves Foundation is a South African nonprofit helping learners and school communities with limited access to eye care move from identification to appropriate support.
The work
We don't stop at screening.
The programme's pathway is practical: identify, assess, educate, refer, support and follow through. Depending on the outreach and available clinical resources, qualified eye-health professionals may provide vision screenings, eye examinations or refraction, low-vision assessment and referral alongside eye-health education.
Prescription glasses, low-vision aids and other visual-support resources are provided where clinically indicated and where funding and resources permit. The goal is not to promise glasses at every outreach, but to help each learner move toward the support they actually need.
